My Friends Always Ask Me How I Get My Hair So Glossy—This On-Sale Product Is the Answer
Our take

The beauty landscape continues its quiet revolution, shifting away from maximalism and embracing a more considered, almost minimalist approach to achieving desired results. We’ve seen this reflected in recent trends, such as the rise of "Personality Dressing" instead of rigidly adhering to a uniform The Best Dressed It Girls (and It Boys) Are Now Embracing "Personality Dressing" Instead of a Uniform , and a renewed focus on effortless, natural-looking beauty – as exemplified by the ongoing fascination with achieving the easiest, most natural-looking summer makeup Wait, I've Just Discovered How to Do the Easiest, Most Natural-Looking Summer Makeup . The current iteration of this movement finds expression in the sudden popularity of "hair tinted moisturizers"—a novel concept gaining traction thanks to Amazon Prime Day deals and the promise of glossy, healthy-looking hair with minimal effort. It's a development that aligns perfectly with the modern consumer’s desire for effective, time-saving solutions that don’t compromise on quality or aesthetic.
The appeal of these hair tinted moisturizers is multifaceted. They offer a low-commitment alternative to traditional hair color, allowing for subtle shifts in tone and enhanced shine without the damaging effects of harsh chemicals. This resonates with a generation increasingly conscious of hair health and seeking products that nourish as well as style. The product functions similarly to its skincare counterpart, depositing pigments and conditioning agents with each use, progressively building color and luminosity. This approach sidesteps the anxiety often associated with permanent color changes, providing a buffer for experimentation and allowing for gradual adjustments to one’s overall look. It's an elegantly simple solution that caters to the modern desire for self-expression with a thoughtful, considered approach. The timing, coinciding with Amazon Prime Day, is particularly strategic, capitalizing on the consumer appetite for accessible luxury and curated finds.
Beyond the immediate convenience, the rise of this product category speaks to a broader trend within the beauty industry: the blurring of lines between skincare and haircare. We’ve long seen the integration of beneficial ingredients previously exclusive to skincare – like hyaluronic acid and peptides – into haircare formulations. This is not merely a marketing tactic; it reflects a deeper understanding of hair as a living tissue that requires nourishment and protection, much like skin. The tinted moisturizer concept extends this convergence, emphasizing the importance of overall hair health alongside aesthetic enhancement. It's a shift towards a more holistic approach to beauty, one that prioritizes long-term wellness over fleeting trends. The ability to subtly enhance color and add shine while simultaneously delivering essential moisture is a powerful proposition for the discerning consumer.
Ultimately, the success of hair tinted moisturizers hinges on their ability to deliver on their promise of effortless gloss and healthy-looking hair. While the initial buzz surrounding Amazon Prime Day deals is undoubtedly a catalyst, sustained popularity will depend on the product’s performance and its integration into a broader haircare routine. The question going forward is whether this represents a long-term evolution in how we approach hair color and care, or simply a fleeting trend fueled by clever marketing and seasonal sales. Watch closely to see if other brands embrace this hybrid approach, and whether the focus on subtle, healthy-looking enhancement continues to dominate the beauty conversation.
Amazon Prime Day 2026 has arrived, bringing a myriad of fashion, homeware, and most excitingly to me, beauty deals to shop over the next few days. But as someone who gets overwhelmed by the sheer number of deals and who also wants to spend my money wisely this season, I’ve made it my goal not to be too impulsive and only shop for products that are actually worth it.
My first port of call? Shopping for products recommended by my fellow editors, of course. I mean, they have years of testing, swatching and comparing under their belt, so when they endorse a product, it always gets my attention. And I’ve been hooked on Glaze’s Supergloss ever since Who What Wear UK’s beauty editor, Eleanor Vousden, suggested it to me, so you can imagine my delight when I saw it on sale for Prime Day.

Using pro-level light-reflecting pigments to bring dull locks back to life, Glaze's Supergloss comes in a clear formula that simply adds a healthy-looking sheen to hair, and also in a wide range of different shades that help to tint, tone or restore the hair colour of your liking.
I’ve tried a lot of glass hair products in my time, and my main issues have always been my locks feeling weighed down or greasy after application. However, this product is a lightweight, cream-textured product in an easy-squeeze bottle. I use it after shampooing and then leave it in for 10 minutes before rinsing it off. And the results are unmatched in comparison to a number of pricier glosses I’ve tried, leaving my hair shiny and silky soft, almost as if I’d had a blowout or silk press at the salon.

And don’t just take it from me. Eleanor says, "I have a couple of different shades to tweak by hair colour seasonally. For summer, I like to use the Caramel Lights shade to enhance my balayage and keep brassiness at bay in between salon visits. In the winter, however, I love the Chocolate Gleam and Sleek Espresso shades when I want to add richness and depth to my lengths without the commitment to permanent colour."

So before you get swept up in the endless amounts of beauty buys on sale, keep scrolling to shop the only product I'm shopping this Prime Day, which of course, comes editor-approved.
