Mainz and Wiesbaden, Germany - Two pretty, peaceful cities

My favourite thing to do whilst travelling is wandering around and looking at different architecture and feeling the vibes of different cities. I think Germany is one of the best countries in Northern Europe for doing this, there’s loads of random cities close together with large pedestrian areas with cool architecture that aren’t overcrowded. Large parts of Mainz and Wiesbaden were destroyed fairly extensively during ww2 so it is not that dense in terms of attractions like other more popular places in Europe, but it is a lot of fun. You can hop between a bunch of German cities easily in quick succession if you travel light, I highly recommend it!
