Helsinki day trip from Tallinn August

Hey everyone! I’m heading to Helsinki for the first time on a day trip from Tallinn (ferry in and out), and I’d love a little guidance.

I tend to travel pretty simply, I like walking, exploring neighborhoods, and finding places that feel lived-in rather than touristy. I’m especially drawn to areas that are in that “in-between” stage of changing, creative, a little rough around the edges but with good energy. Big fan of indie rock, local cafés, and just soaking up the vibe.

My rough plan is to grab lunch at Hakaniemi Market Hall, city center and cathedral but I’m looking for some of that more lived in Helsinki. Ideally somewhere with good, casual food, maybe craft beer, and outdoor seating if possible, nothing fancy, just a great place to hang out for a bit.

Thanks in advance!
