Converting this shed into a coop.

| So, my chickens are going to live here when they're big enough to stay in a coop. What should I do to prepare this shed for my chickies? I'm going to cut a door for them in the side, patch any leaks so that rain doesn't get in, remove that piece of siding on the front, which is covering a ventilation window, I'm going to tear out all the old insulation and put in new, shovel out the top layer of dirt, because rodents and bugs have made this their home for many years, and make a run for my chickens to use, of course. What else do I need to do to make it chicken ready? Would it be safe to use a bug bomb? There are so many ants and spiders and possibly fleas in here. If I do use a fogger, it will be before I take out the old insulation and shovel out the dirt. It will be at least a month before the chicks are ready to go outside, which should give it time to air out. [link] [comments] |
