How do I get rid of the dirt on the side of my nails and my hands?

Looking for advice on how to get rid of the grime in the cracks of my hands and my nails.

I'm a mechanic so my hands get dirty often, even with gloves. I often get dirt, grease, oil, brake dust on my hands.

I use a Scrub daddy sponge to get the overall grime off, but no matter how long or hard I scrub I still have dirt left over. I also use Dawn and/or whatever hand soap is available.

I've tried scrubbing with qtips, a tooth brush, nail brush. As well as products like Fast Orange and Grip Clean.

The only thing that seems to work is scraping it out with fine tweezers, but that hurts.
