Coop temps already hitting 90s in April. Worried about the ladies’ first outdoor summer. Any tips for beating the summer heat, besides adding a few extra tarps, which we will

| (swipe photos) We live in southern Virginia and we’ve already had a number of 90-degree days. We have pretty hot summers, and I’m worried about them. They’ve been panting and seem stressed in the nesting box. You can see what we have set up right now, and we plan on a few more tarps or sunshades in the coming weeks. Does anyone have any tips for beating the heat other than that? Our girls are pretty hefty and I want to do what I can for them. Does anyone recommend misting fans or anything like that? We literally have no natural shade in our yard right now. We’re growing trees, but they small as hell. [link] [comments] |
