Advice for Chicken Coops and Breeds (1st time)
Hi! My fiance and I have talked and agreed that after our wedding this September we are going to start building a coop and purchase chickens (hopefully we can get a gas heater and start in October).
We are wondering, if we want a movable chicken coop, what the pros and cons are? If a stationary coop is better? Box build or DIY coop? For about 1/2 an acre, how many are ideal?
Edit: I realize that I forgot to ask for breed suggestions too. I know that I do plan on having chickens for consumption and also chickens for eggs.
