Beyond the Baseline: The Precision of the US Open Ball Crew

The ball crew at the US Open operates with a quiet, exacting rhythm. In a long list of jobs I'm highly unqualified for, ball person is top five. Their precision is the unspoken pulse of every point, a choreographed discipline that rarely gets its due. It is a tailored performance in its own right, demanding focus most of us reserve for the baseline. For those who appreciate the details, it is as essential as the matches themselves.
